My heart breaks every time I hear about the struggles children around the world face. It may be abuse, poverty, or negligence, but it all makes me feel so sad that I cannot swoop them all up into one big hug. Hearing the tragic stories involving children on the news every day make me so thankful that mine are healthy and safe!
I participated in this program on behalf of ConAgra Foods, Kroger, and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
In the U.S. alone, more than one in five children may not know when or where they will be getting their next meal. That’s nearly 16 million children in our nation! What’s even worse, is the long-term consequences that these children may face, even if they only have to deal with hunger intermittently.
Child hunger can affect sufferers in the areas of health, well-being, and educational achievement. Think about it – how well can you perform when you are feeling low on food and energy?! What’s more, being hungry robs kids of the promise of childhood – the ability to play, grow and learn.
ConAgra Foods has found this unacceptable. They are now partnering with P&G to form a community of people that will help make a difference. They are working to donate up to 7 million meals through the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign.
How You Can Help
Would you like to help with the child hunger issue in America? Here are three great ways you can support the campaign!
1. Enter product codes.
It’s easy to make a difference: Look for the red pushpin on participating product packaging for a code found on these specially marked ConAgra Foods and P&G products. For each 8-digit code entered at ChildHungerEndsHere.com from March-August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G, respectively, will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.
From today until April 12, Kroger is offering several deals on foods containing the Child Hunger Ends Here codes for entry. Simply add the coupons to your Kroger card to save money on lots of items, including Manwich, Hunt’s Snack Pack Pudding, Chef Boyardee, and Van Camp’s Baked Beans.
2. Download Hunter Hayes’ single, “Invisible”
Child Hunger Ends Here is proud to work with Hunter Hayes and be the presenting sponsor of his “We’re Not Invisible” tour. For every download of Hunter’s new single, “Invisible,” on iTunes, Child Hunger Ends Here will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity, Feeding America, up to 1 million meals.
3. Stay Up to Date
One of the easiest ways to learn how to get involved is to join the Child Hunger Ends Here Facebook community or follow the news on Twitter and Instagram at @ChildHungerEnds.
