An ABCmouse review from a 6-year-old and 3-year-old (and their mom!)
I am always on the lookout for fun ways to introduce and reinforce learning skills with my two boys. I have a kindergartener and preschooler, so anytime I can find something they both enjoy, it’s a hit!
ABCmouse.com is one example of quality education and entertainment both of my sons love. There is a wide range of activities they can do that encourages learning and fun. We were able to try out the service for free in exchange for this post, but all opinions are our own!
Our Honest ABCmouse Review
Signing up for ABCmouse was super easy. You can add three children to each account, and there are parent settings you can manage based on your family’s preferences. It took less than 10 minutes to have Sawyer and Dawson set up and ready to start learning.
For our ABCmouse review, I started both boys with the assessments. These were 30-minute tests that would show which path they should start on within the program.Sawyer took the Kindergarten assessment and passed it with flying colors. I still set him on the Kindergarten learning path because it never hurts to review concepts he’s already learned. Dawson just turned three last week, so we have him on the ToddlerTime path.

I am seriously blown away by the amount of learning activities offered on ABCmouse. Dawson is loving all the puzzles. He sometimes goes off his learning path just to work on the puzzles. He will do the same puzzles over and over, but it’s all educating him!
Sawyer tends to stick to his learning path, completing the activities in order before moving on to the next.
Both boys love getting tickets for completing the activities. Dawson figured out how to get to the ticket store and spent 50 of his tickets! With the tickets, players can buy things for their bedroom, their avatar, and their pets! Speaking of pets, each player has fish and a hamster to raise in the game!
We installed the ABCmouse app on each boys’ iPad and they are both loving it. It’s been the most used app on each device since we installed them. Now, I can have my laptop back and they can learn. It’s a win-win!
Though they have free time to play ABCmouse independently, I can still see how they are doing in the parent section. The Progress Tracker shows me the activities both boys are completing when they play alone. I also sit down and play with them sometimes, especially with Dawson.
