Ahoy maties! LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta has opened a new exhibit, Pirate Adventure Island. My boys were able to enjoy an evening of play at LEGOLAND earlier this month in exchange for this post!
A large pirate ship takes up the majority of the area, offering an soft obstacle course with lots of climbing, crawling, and sliding for kids. The pirate ship was built with adults in mind as well, so parents can climb right in and have fun with their little ones.
Also in Pirate Adventure Island is a long water table complete with boxes of LEGOs ready for pirate ship and boat building. Air cannons are available at the end for fun, competitive boat races! This spot was Sawyer’s favorite while we were there. Dawson preferred to run his hands through the water over building boats!
“Pirate Adventure Island will sail families through an imaginative, nautical journey right here in Atlanta!” said Aries Viera, Master Model Builder of LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Atlanta. “The new component is not only an exploration of the high seas, but it is also an educational quest for families with several hands-on sensory activities. With endless interactive, playful elements Pirate Adventure Island is sure to create lasting memories for visiting families!”
Also brand new this year, “The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” will play in the 4D cinema for a limited time beginning February 27. My family was able to catch this movie while at the media event, and we really loved it! At 2, I was afraid Dawson may be a little scared but he sat right through it with his older brother.
