This post is brought to you by McDonald’s.
Did you know that most (80%) of McDonald’s menu items are under 400 calories? The restaurant is really making a shift to offering healthier foods options on the go. They actually have a “Favorites Under 400” menu that is designed to help those that may be counting calories still enjoy a meal away from home.
Customers may be surprised when they hear about the calorie counts of some of their favorite McDonald’s options. “Favorites Under 400” supports McDonald’s ongoing commitment to provide nutritional menu options and accessible information to empower our customers and employees to make choices that are right for their nutrition needs. And the items can fit in nicely with the average daily recommended intake of 2,000 calories per day.
Some of the favorite meal items featured on this menu include:
- Filet o Fish Sandwich
- Real Fruit Smoothies
- Fruit and Maple Oatmeal
- Six-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Grilled Chicken Ranch Snack Wrap
- And more!
Research shows that only 15 percent of American adults can accurately estimate the number of calories they need every day. McDonald’s is bringing greater awareness to calories starting with some of customers’ favorite menu items for under 400 calories. With “Favorites Under 400”, we aim to help customers understand how their choices fit within their daily recommended calorie needs, particularly with portion sizing and eating in moderation.
You can find the Favorites Under 400 menu in-restaurant and by going through the drive-thru. It’s also listed on the McDonald’s website!
