Living not too far from Chattanooga, I rarely have the luxury to just leisurely walk downtown and take in all that the city has to offer. We usually drive in, walk from a parking lot to our destination, then drive home. However, I recently received a complementary night at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Chattanooga, and my family and I were able to really see it like a visitor!
By family, I mean my mom, aunt, cousin, and myself. It was my cousin’s 13th birthday so we wanted to do a special ‘girl’s trip’ for her. Staying at the Hilton gave the four of us time away from the real world — in a much more relaxed, luxurious setting.
The staff of the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Chattanooga are beyond friendly and professional. They greeted us as we passed the front desk, in the elevator, or entering and exiting the pool area. Anything we needed, they got us in a timely manner. Check in was a breeze, and we were up to our room within 10 minutes of arrival.
The lady at the front desk even let us put items from the pantry on our tab, when we realized we needed a couple things but, coming from the pool, we didn’t have cash on hand. Little things like that make me happy to recommend a hotel once I’ve stayed there.
The room was very comfortable and spacious enough for the four of us. The queen beds slept well — this was the first time in a while I’ve been able to go to bed at 12:30am and stay asleep until 8:30am! I blame the bad mattress at home and its discomfort, which was eliminated at the Hilton.
We enjoyed the swimming pool, which were open until 11pm. That gave us plenty of time to see the sites of downtown Chattanooga and still have lots of time to take a dip or just relax in the hot tub. The courtyard as well as seating out front of the hotel offers lots of places to lounge after a day of exploring the city.
Breakfast from the Garden Grille and Bar was wonderful. The buffet offer a wealth of choices – eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and more. There were also made to order options, such as french toast and pancakes, which I liked because then you had them hot and ready just for you. I ordered the Pecan Pancakes, and they are SO delicious!
The green Strawberry Kiwi juice served with traditional breakfast juices was also a hit with my family. We all took a cup of it with us when we finished our meal.
As far as location, Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Chattanooga is seriously in the heart of it all. It is right next to the Creative Discovery Museum, and just a short walk to the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX theater, Chattanooga Choo Choo, and more. Lots of restaurants nearby too – Mellow Mushroom, Applebee’s, TGIFriday’s, and Cheeburger Cheeburger, to name a few.
If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay and want to be close to all things Chattanooga, the Hilton Garden Inn is a good choice. The rooms are nice, the food is good, and it’s location is great for exploring the city on foot.
