Last weekend, the family and I headed to Stone Mountain to experience #SnowBlog15, where they invite area bloggers to experience the Snow Mountain Attraction, going on now until February 22.
This was our second visit to Stone Mountain, and our first time getting to play in the snow there. Sawyer was beyond thrilled to have the cold, white snow to play in. Just last month, he demanded that Christmas Day was not truly here because there wasn’t any snow on the ground.
We first went down Avalanche Alley, the family tubing attraction. We were sad that Dawson couldn’t go down with us, since he was under the height requirement. Maybe next year! It was really fun and we even got my mom to do it once. Photos are snapped as you go down the tube, so you can purchase them before you leave for a memento!
Next, Sawyer was ready to do Tube Runners, where he got to do some snow tubing on his own! He did great, and kept his hands on the straps of the tube the entire time. He loved it, and cannot wait to do it again.
The Snow Zone was a great place for kids of all ages to play. There was lots of wet, slushy snow to use for making snowmen, filling buckets, or scooping with shovels. There were also boards in one section where you could practice your snowball tossing! Fort Snow was the backdrop of the Snow Zone, where kids could burn off a little more energy by adventuring through it.
While we were at Snow Mountain, we also had a chance to watch the featured 4D film, Journey 2. James, my mom, and I really enjoyed that but I don’t recommend it for very young children, especially those that don’t like loud noises. Sawyer covered his ears through a few parts. He did like getting a little wet in the theatre though!
