Disclosure: I received this vehicle to drive for one week in exchange for this review. All opinions are mine.
James and I were able to test out the Ford C-Max Hybrid last week. I must start by saying that the hybrid vehicle reviews I’ve gotten to do are really spoiling me. The fuel efficiency is SO nice! We live in the middle of nowhere and have to travel at least 20 minutes to Walmart, or 45 for a decent shopping center.
With all of the gas expenses, we are certainly considering a hybrid for our future vehicle purchase. The Ford C-Max Hybrid gave us exceptional gas mileage. We drove it 45 minutes one way to an apple orchard and over 1 hour 15 minutes to the Disney on Ice performance. Including regular driving around our city, we only needed to add $5 on top of the full tank of gas we were provided!
We typically drive James’ car everywhere, and it would have taken at least a tank and a half, if not more, for all the driving we did in the Ford. The gas savings would add up over time too, which would very nice for our family’s budget.
Along with fuel efficiency, the Ford C-Max Hybrid features a spacious interior. I would not have imagined the space available inside until I was actually in the car. There was plenty of leg room in the front and back, and the cargo area would easily hold luggage for my entire family. It offered plenty of storage for our groceries when we made a trip to Walmart in it!
The electronic features of the C-Max Hybrid were very nice as well. I personally loved the dual temperature control. I have become fairly hot-natured this pregnancy – so I have to set the air cooler on my side. There are also air vents on the back of the console so Sawyer could get cooled off quicker than in either of our vehicles. Nice plus for him!
The vehicle also offered Sirius satellite radio as well as navigation services. We had to use the navigation for both of our trips, so it was nice to have it on hand. I also liked how the radio displayed on the instrument panel – no having to dart your eyes to the right to see what’s playing.
Another thing about the very back area, along with ample storage, is the auto-open and close door. This is so nice if you have your hands full! You can press the button on the key fob, but it’s easier to just slide your foot beneath the back bumper, below the vehicle’s tag.
All in all, we enjoyed our experience with the Ford C-Max Hybrid. I believe the car would be great for singles as well as those with small children. If you travel frequently, I also recommend you check out this vehicle.
