My husband isn’t the easiest person to buy for. His wish list contains very few, mostly expensive items. He does like practical gifts, however, and he does love his car — two things I can use when shopping for him.
Since James is a hard worker as well as great father and husband, the boys and I love to show him just how much we care. It’s important for us to give him good gifts for his birthday and on holidays. Gifts that show how much we appreciate him!
With Father’s Day coming up, I had a wonderful idea that would incorporate my hubby’s car and our 4 year old. I will have to do something else like this in the future, so I can include the baby once he’s older too.
First, I went shopping for the perfect Father’s Day gift at my local Walmart. They had just what I was looking for…the Armor All Car Care Gift Pack 10-Piece Bucket. It was easy to find too, with an end cap in the automotive section full of the kits.
Since my husband strongly believes Armor All helps preserve and protect the value and appearance of his car, and has trusted the name for years, I knew it would be perfect for him.
He is always hand washing his car in our driveway, and he goes through car care products like crazy. With everything in this bucket, from the Armor All Protectant Wipes for the interior to the Quick Silver Wheel & Tire Cleaner, I knew he had everything he needed to take good care of his baby!
With everything inside the bucket being over $30 in value, I also saved money on this gift. Plus, this $2 coupon (while supplies last) will save you even more! A great gift and cash still in your pocket is a win-win in my book.
Once I was back home, I started working on part two of James’ Father’s Day gift. The Armor All Bucket is practical, so I needed to put a little thoughtfulness into his present. This is where I got some help from Sawyer!
We made personalized Father’s Day coupons for James to redeem whenever he wanted. I created a quick template in Picmonkey and printed it. Click the image below to download the free template to use for your own car lover!
Sawyer and I then sat down and discussed some things his daddy would like to have from the three of us. The original plan was to only include coupons related to taking good care of his car, but we decided to throw in an extra that we knew he would love!
I let Sawyer color the pictures on the coupons for a personal touch. I also wrote the date in the corner, so we could remember when he used his fine coloring skills!
Older kids would probably enjoy filling in the coupons all by themselves, and cutting them out too.
Some ideas for Father’s Day coupons include:
- Free car wash
- Free car vacuum
- Free tire & wheel cleaning
- New car air freshener
- Quiet drive home
- Favorite breakfast
- 1 hour uninterrupted nap
- 1 week off trash duty
- Day of fishing
- Free back rub
With the coupons finished, I cut them out and placed a fun paperclip on them so they would stay together until James was ready to redeem! We cannot wait to give him his bucket and coupons – we are sure he will love this Father’s Day gift.
I am sure it will be a nice break for him to have US doing this car care for once!
